The 2010 homecoming week featured the annual queen pageant, Oct. 21, where candidates participated in activities to win votes. The event was held in Ground Zero during chapel period.
The five queen nominees — Madison Dooley, Cassidy Hutchins, Mary Reynolds, Kory Thompson and Jenna Yee — underwent a variety of challenges and stunts to prove their royal merit.
A panel of judges, consisting of math teacher Jane Gillespie, journalism adviser Greg Stobbe and secretary Brenda Warkentin, scored each candidate throughout the pageant.
Following the pageant, students voted for queen and their class princess in the Ground Zero quad. At half-time of the homecoming game, Oct. 22, Yee was crowned homecoming queen and Hutchins was recognized as the senior princess.
This video, produced by sophomore Juan Ruelas, provides a visual summary of the queen pageant and highlights distinctive aspects of the event.
