After the excitement and hype of a football game, student leadership hosts a Fifth Quarter, at Luna’s Pizzeria in Clovis for all student and players.
“Since we have such a good team this year, it is fun to be with everybody from school because they are in such a good mood,” Lindsay Patterson, ’03, said. “Its fun to hang out with my friends and be in that atmosphere especially after a win.”
Other than the joy of hanging out with friends after a football game, the variety of food is also a plus. Luna’s provided all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, salad, bread and soda for $6. Fans and players arrive after each football game at 10 p.m. and stay for an hour.
“There is a great atmosphere of Fresno Christian enthusiasm,” Matt Brower, ’06, said. “The variety of food is really good. It would be boring to eat one type of food but they have lots to choose from.”
The food is not only appreciated by the students but also is very satisfying to the football players after a long game.
“It is so nice to go there and eat after a football game,” Adam Leslie, ’04, said. ?Luna’s is the perfect place to go and eat. Besides the food it is also a fun place to go and chill with my friends. The staff is really nice too.”
For some, $6 may be much but after being with the crowd, many feel it was money well spent.
“I thought $6 was a lot to pay at first because I wasn’t planning on eating; I just wanted to hang out with friends,’ Morgan Rigby, ’04, said. “But once I was inside with all of my friends, I decided to eat and just hang out. It was not a waste of money and I can’t wait until the next Fifth Quarter.”
The next Fifth Quarter will be held after the Nov. 8 football game against Laton. Luna’s will not be used as that game will be held at Grizzlies Stadium. Students should watch the announcements for the Downtown Fresno restaurant that will host it.
