Among the various attractions of Christmas, Candy Cane Lane, Clovis’s version of Christmas Tree Lane, offers music and lights for spectators to enjoy.
Located on Alluvial and Cindy Avenues in Clovis, Candy Cane Lane runs from Dec. 1-26, with lights turned on from 6-9:45 p.m.
Since its beginning in 1993, Candy Cane Lane has become an annual tradition that allows adults and children to walk part of the Wawona Ranch Estates neighborhood in Clovis.
Candy Cane Lane features traditional decorations such as lights and yard displays, but also includes Clydesdale horse-drawn carriages and tour buses for holiday walkers, setting it apart from other venues.
“I enjoyed Candy Cane Lane more than Christmas Tree Lane because it was less crowded and more spread out,” Rayna Endicott, ’14, said. “All of the houses were fully decorated.”
First-time visitors to Candy Cane Lane can amble through the neighborhood, examining the various and creative decorations.
“I had never been to Candy Cane Lane before, but I was blown away,” Elora Hargis, ’14, said. “The houses were really festive, and the whole atmosphere was merry and in the Christmas spirit.”
In addition, walkers may experience a more relaxed and family-friendly Christmas walk, since it is smaller and less busy than other popular light displays.
“The houses were really cool, and it was fun to see people we knew; it shows that Candy Cane Lane is a more family-friendly environment,” Hargis, ’14, said. “Most of the houses were completely lit up, and they were really pretty.”
For visitors’ convenience, each night allows both walking and driving. For more information on this tradition, read the Dec. 17, 2009 article, Holiday lights enrich Fresno/Clovis atmosphere.
