The Parent Teacher Fellowship is holding a fundraiser for the school at BJ’s Restaurant & Brewhouse on Jan. 27, 5-9 p.m.
Guests who bring the fundraiser flyer (PDF), available online or from the office, will have 15 percent of their tab donated to the school.
This event is part of the PTF’s monthly dinner fundraisers; the first event was held at Sweet Tomatoes on Oct. 26, 2010.
Michelle Devereaux, a PTF member, supports these fundraisers in order to help the school earn extra money.
“The PTF does a monthly fellowship dinner for Fresno Christian,” Devereaux said. “We like to promote Fresno Christian through these fundraisers, and we make some money.”
In order to increase participation, the PTF opened the fundraiser to all grades.
“The more people and families, the better. That’s why we include grades 7-12 [in addition to K-6],” Devereaux said. “We usually raise between $100-300.”
Superintendent Debbie Siebert encourages members of the community to support the school through this event.
“The Fresno Christian community should come together for this event to support their school,” Siebert said. “Fresno Christian families should take advantage of the opportunity to fundraise for their school by coming to BJ’s.”
Siebert said that these dinners, in contrast to other fundraisers, allow participants to enjoy fellowship while raising money.
“Dinner fundraisers are great because you can bond with the other families and kids can sit and eat with their friends.” Siebert said. “Kids from FC love these fundraisers because it gives them the excuse to hang out with their friends and family.”
