As the spring season approaches, the almond trees along the Blossom Trail in Sanger showcase blooms with characteristically white petals.
In order to gain a different perspective on the surroundings, junior Dana King woke up at 4 a.m. to view the almond blossoms at dawn with the Sierra Mountains as a backdrop.
Due to a lack of snow and rain, more flowers were opened up compared to last time. Until the sun fully rose, however, the buds did not open completely.
With more sunny weather, the flowers will shed their petals and bear fruit.
This collection of photos, all taken by King, captures the surroundings of the Blossom Trail as they appeared on March 1. As the spring season transforms the trail, The Feather will publish additional photos and slideshows.
