The art of caricatures paints people in a new light, exaggerating and distorting features that make the individual unique.
Drawing a caricature requires the artist to choose which aspect to highlight, resulting in a representation that reflects the artist’s own interpretation.
In an effort to help the student body learn more about others on campus, The Feather has enlisted sophomore Miriam DeWolf to draw a caricature of someone at school each week.
This is the seventh installment in the Guess Who? series.
Can you guess who this is? Let us know in the comments below.
Answer: This caricature is Josh Hopper, ’12.
More on Miriam
The daughter of Kimberly DeWolf, a support services provider for the Learning Resource Center, Miriam enjoys drawing and reading.
She looks forward to sharing her art with The Feather’s readers and illustrating people on campus in her own style.
Check back next Tuesday, May 17, for another caricature and another opportunity to guess.

Let me just say that burning the gourds is always more fun than washing them. It is most frustrating to discover the dark splotches you have been scrubbing at for an entire class period with steel wool, sponges, and toothbrushes are, in fact, stains and will not come out. That’s a really cool picture, though, Hannah!

This is such a cool picture!
Maybe I’m crazy, but I thought washing the gourds was actually fun.
