In chapel the junior high and high school students were greeted by campus alumni and CEO Chris Lee, ’94, and a pep talk about selling The VIP Card, Aug. 18. The prizes gave the students motivation to sell quickly and efficiently. With prizes consisting of iPods, iPads, $50 gift cards and more.
However, this year there are more features on the VIP card than ever before, including a snap off keychain card that can be used for an average of 53% on all perscriptions at countless pharmacies.
These cards can be used for small and big things, such as grocery shopping, going to the movies and even Disneyland or Sea World. Lee came to share information on exactly how much you can save.
“By purchasing a VIP Members Card you will be gaining access to save at over 100,000 locations nationally,” Lee said. “Including Disney, Six Flags, California Pizza Kitchen, BJ’s, Regal Movies and so much more.”
According to Lee, millions of these cards have been sold and used nationwide. Making it easier to conserve those hard earned dollars.
“By buying a VIP members Card you will save money ? a lot of money. In fact, on average you will save ten times more than it cost you,” Lee said. “This means that by buying a card you are not only supporting this great school [FC], you will also save far more than it cost you!”
The students are encouraged to sell as many of these cards as possible to help raise money for the school. Selling 50 VIP cards result in an iPod touch, 100 will offer an iPad and the top seller in the school will be rewarded with a limo ride to California Pizza Kitchen, along with three of their friends.
Freshman Jacob Williams has already witnessed some of the prizes that can be attained during this competition. He sold five VIP cards and was entered in a drawing to win two tickets to Disneyland.
“I actually wasn’t even trying to win the Disneyland tickets,” Williams said. “I just sold the cards, I had forgotten that you got the tickets. I was excited when I won though, because now my family and I are going to Disneyland over Christmas break. I had originally planned on selling 100 cards, and that’s why I had sold those five that weekend.”
Althoughsome students are excited about selling and helping the school, others find themselves too busy to participate in the fundraiser. Senior Celeste Camacho is one of those not selling.
“None of my family or neighbors want to buy any,” Camacho said. “Even if they did, I have a little sister in 4th grade also selling. So if they did want to buy them, they would do so from her instead because she has the cuteness factor.”
The VIP cards will be sold through Sept. 7; students are encouraged to sell to friends, family and neighbors. In order to raise money for the school and various activities, students can go online and check out the VIP card website.
