Every year, identification cards are handed out along with students’ school portraits from Milne Photography. These were shot earlier in the year during the annual picture day.
Those pictures arrived at the end of the day and are now available in front of the high school office. ID cards are traditionally used to get into sporting and other FC events, and contain a copy of a student’s number, which are necessary to login to campus computers.
Principal Todd Bennet believes ID cards are necessary to participate in campus life.
“Student ID cards are important for a number of reasons,” Bennett said. “You should carry them with you at all times because you could get into events cheaper, and … if somebody is being belligerent, meaning that one of our kids is getting into trouble at one of the restaurants or stores near the school it’s good for people to know who they are. Basically, if you have a picture ID it’s helpful.”
Students are encouraged to pick up their ID cards and photos from secretaries Lisa Dooley and Brenda Warkentin this week.
