At approximately 2:50 p.m., a lockdown was announced on the FC campus. The Fresno Police Department contacted the FC Administration Office, and directed a campus lockdown, Nov. 3.
Though nothing specific was revealed, FC was informed of police activity in the area. Buildings 5 and 6, the FC Gym and the library were locked down.
As Principal Todd Bennett was making rounds to ensure the drill was in effect, police officers informed him that the danger was over, and that a suspect was in custody. In its entirety, the drill lasted for around five minutes.
According to an email from Bennett, all students were safely locked into the classrooms within three minutes.
“The officers congratulated the school personnel for locking down the campus efficiently and quickly,” Bennett said. “Because of the swift action of the FCS faculty and staff, as well as effective planning, our students were kept safe throughout the ordeal.”
If there are any questions, email Bennett or call him at 299.1695, ext. 128.
