For the second annual Round the Table Carol Sing, campus music groups will perform in the FC Gym, Dec. 14 and 15 at 5:30 p.m.
Admission will be free, though tickets for preferred seating are available. The evening is said to promote Christmas cheer, with decorations and refreshments of cookies and cider to be served.
Many groups were involved in the event last year, including the ukelele club, among others. This year, another club hoping to contribute is the ASL club.
Though the previous year’s concert required many hours of preparation, the work paid off, and attendees enjoyed the atmosphere. Choir member Sabrina Henderson, ’15, looks forward to participating because she enjoyed attending last year.
“I’m looking forward to the concert because Christmas is my favorite holiday and I love singing Christmas music,” Henderson said. “I’m especially looking forward to the opportunity to sing for my friends and family. Jesus is the reason we celebrate and I’m glad to be able to do that with everyone.”
This is senior Josh Grinage’s first Christmas concert at FC, and he will take part as a choir member. Grinage looks forward to the opportunity to experience a new event, he says.
“I like how we’re going to have tables and serve cookies to everyone,” Grinage said. “I’m looking forward to the new experience because I haven’t been in choir since the third grade. I really appreciate the hard work put in for the concert from everyone, and Mr. [Michael] Ogdon has done a really great job with working with everyone. I think we’re going to sound pretty good.”
Music Director Michael Ogdon looks forward to showcasing a variety of music.
“I’m anticipating for the concert choir, the song ‘O Come, O Come,’ because it is somewhat experimental, so it should be a lot of fun,” Ogdon said. “For the ensemble, ‘There is No Rose,’ because it is so beautiful.”
Center pieces for each of the 30 tables will be provided by parents. Ogdon has coordinated the event along with assistance from staff member Tina Brown.

That was my first real race and it didn’t turn out to bad, getting there 5 minutes before didn’t help though.

My favorite part of cross country meets is the beginning because it gives a small adrenaline rush of running in a stampede of people.

To run that race took a lot of endurance. Five kilometers of hills, yikes! It was fun though and a lot easier when you are out there. Definitely would suggest cross country to anyone who’s willing to be out there.

I’m not so sure about what I think about that race. I am glad I had a good time and that I ran well, but I regret that it was such a hot day with bad air quality. Regarding the comment above, you should definitely join.

I though about joining cross country this year but decided to pass it up. I kinda regret it now but I hope to be out there next year!
