During class meetings, held during chapel on Thursday, Sept. 5, the Student Leadership team announced the homecoming theme for the Oct. 25 home game: Superheroes. Unlike previous years, Student Leadership aims to allow over a month of work into the event.
The homecoming game will be held on the FC north field, beginning with pregame festivities at 6:30 p.m., Oct. 25. Half time will also feature the judging of the class floats and results to the princess, king and queen nominees.
Each year, grades 9-11 nominate three girls to be candidates for princesses, while the senior class nominates five boys and five girls to be candidates for King and Queen. During the class meetings, the students also choose their float ideas. This year, seniors will produces a float depicting Batman, juniors will create The Avengers, sophomores chose Incredibles and the freshman picked Power Rangers.
Student Leadership adviser Robert Foshee believes that the class was almost unanimous in choosing superheroes as the theme for this year’s homecoming game. Homecoming, he believes, is a great way to unite the school, including alumni and parents.
“The event group came up with three of four ideas and presented them to the class for themes and float ideas,” Foshee said. “After the discussion it was unanimous to go with Superheroes. It’s a matter of celebrating the students accomplished and inviting back alumni and parents. It’s a kind of night to enjoy together and see everyone come back on campus for the event.”
Unlike previous years, Student Leadership is beginning plans over a month before the event in order to give enough time to thoroughly develop the entire week of homecoming.
“It’s the timing and when it’s available,” Foshee said. “We started in September because it takes a while to plan the floats, allow girls to get their dresses and get the word out. Student Leadership likes to work a month ahead to plan the pageants and work on the decorations.”
Results for the princess, king and queen nominations will be announced Friday, Sept. 6. For more information, contact Robert Foshee.

Bree I wonder what it taste like. Mrs. Harris Can make anything edible. Making the slime must have been fun. Eating it must have been better.

I soon as I saw this picture I was mortified by this. I’m hoping I don’t ever see this again. It’s great how this school can have weird freaky people and get away with it. I feel bad for scott her brother.
