Dear Editor,
The concert trip to Bakersfield to study the Romantic Age was well worth the time. I learned much valuable information like how the music of that era presented the emotions of that age.
The concert showed me what people experience during that time. In addition, I learned the difference between classical and romantic music. Mainly, I learned how to take pictures out of music, and envision the emotions of the composers and artists of the Romantic Age. Every musical piece had a story behind it.
Overall, I learned the ideas and visions of a time in history.
This trip truly taught me to appreciate music. It was interesting to learn many different facts on a different time in history that many of us did not even know existed. Even though the trip was mainly for the Academic Decathlon class, I though it would be neat to tag-along.
This trip was especially interesting because I was able to gain knowledge in an area that I would not receive anywhere else. Regular classes do not offer this advantageous type of material. I believe that it would benefit anyone.
I think regular English classes should incorporate the arts, but that is what ACADEC is for. I’m glad I decided to go.
