For the 18th annual Night of the Stars (NOTS), each class will produce a movie to be shown at dinner with an awards show, Feb. 18. The event is to be held at the Grand 1401, located at 1401 Fulton Street in downtown Fresno. The theme is set to be “Night in Paris.”
The event is one of the most anticipated and hyped affairs of the year. Student leadership adviser Jane Gillespie looks forward to this take on NOTS, and appreciates the positive outlook shared by the leadership class.
“This year’s theme is different from what we’ve done in the past,” Gillespie said. “The students and Mr. Foshee and I have put in a lot of effort into making sure that this night is special for all who attend.”
First time attender sophomore Lucas Lopez is attending the event with a group. Beyond an enjoyable night with dinner and awards, Lopez looks forward to seeing his own performance in the The Parent Trap.
“I am expecting for it to be fun; I’m looking forward to eating dinner with my friends and participating in the activities before and after,” Lopez. “I am Mr. Blake in our NOTS movie so it will be really fun to see myself on the big screen.”
Freshman Mackenzie Devereaux has high expectation for NOTS, between dressing up and spending time with her friends in a new environment.
“I am excited to get ready with all my friends and go to an event where everyone will be dressed up,” Devereaux said. “I think I will really enjoy myself and hopefully take many wonderful memories from the night.”
Having attended the event before, senior Tyler Krigbaum is anticipating NOTS with feelings of excitement and nostalgia.
“Since it is my senior year I am going all out,” Krigbaum said. “I find that NOTS is a great way to bond with the school and in the years I have attended I find tat it is a really enjoyable experience. It’s great to be with all of my friends in a setting that is not education related, where we can all just have fun.”
Junior Jordan Boudreau enjoys NOTS because of the chance to break out of the usual routine, and see friends in a different light.
“I think it is a wonderful opportunity to experience a formal event that most of my friends go to,” Boudreau said. “I also like the night because it gives us guys the chance to make a girl feel special.”
