Rather than put on a traditional Sadie Hawkins dance, the Student Leadership class has decided to host a fun evening at Blackbeard’s Family Entertainment Center, with bowling to follow. Attendees will dress in sports garb as per the theme, “Score One For Sadies,” April 21.
The event will begin on campus, where students will have the opportunity to take pictures. Attendees will then head to the Blackbeard’s for a few hours of recreation. Following Blackbeard’s, students will travel to a bowling alley, whose location has yet to be determined.
The functions of this year’s Sadies will include several competitions centered around the night’s sports theme, where couples have the opportunity to earn prizes.
Student Leadership Adviser Jane Gillespie says the event has a lot in store for students.
“It’s really going to be a ton of fun,” Gillespie said. “The type of event is great for people who are going to have a date and for those who just want to go and hang out with friends. It’s a great way to create lasting high school memories because you are going to be with your classmates having fun away from school.”
Likewise, Student Leadership Adviser Robert Foshee, encourages students to come enjoy the night.
“It is a good time and the places we are going are fun,” Foshee said. “The students should come and join us for a great time and a fun, packed evening.”
Sophomore Rayna Endicott is attending Sadies and shares what she is looking forward to.
“I am expecting to have a fun time with all my friends,” Endicott said. “I think we will really enjoy this year’s activities.”
Sadies tickets will be on sale beginning March 26, at lunch. Tickets are $35 each and include dinner, entrance into Blackbeard’s and admission for bowling in their cost.

Stephan’s costume was priceless… Only he could pull something off like that. Can’t wait for next week when we all get to dress up! 🙂
