During lunch, the Economics class (Econ) will hold the Econ Fair, March 7.
The students in the Economics classes will take on the persona of an entrepreneur with a partner or independently. Their task is to create their own original product, keeping in mind what students are willing to pay and willing to buy.
The purpose of this project is to teach the students how to form a business, in accordance with the current unit in class of supply and demand.
Economics teacher Jordana Siebert hopes to see a positive reaction from the student body to further the students’ learning.
“I hope that their is a good turn out form all the other students,” Siebert said. “The kids have put in a lot of effort and work into some of the products so I am excited to see what interesting and unique ideas they have come up with.”
There will be a vast variety of things being sold. From bracelets and beanies to baked goods and lanyards, students will have many items to choose from.
“The product I think will sell the best would food, because it [the Econ Fair] is during lunch,” Siebert said. “But I would like to see other products prosper as well because of the work that students have put into them. People should come and buy the items to support their fellow students, and see cool things and make new memories.”
Senior Cooper Belmont partnered with Martin Moreno, ’12, and will contribute to the fair with a unique food item.
“I am making a gramwich with Martin Moreno,” Belmont said. “It has a lot of good ingredients and I think the students will like it.”
Senior Brandi Thompson is excited for the unusual event. She expects the fair to be an intriguing and enjoyable experience.
“I am expecting unique projects and tasty new foods, I am looking foreword to the creativity that my fellow students used in this project,” Thomson said. “I think this year will be really good because they have actually put in effort in the things that they have made.”

It’s an early evening, so you can still get to church events or grab dinner afterwards … have a cookie and cider warmup to a wonderful evening!
