As The Feather staff travels to New York City (NYC) for the 88th annual Columbia Scholastic Press Association Scholastic Convention at Columbia University, March 14-16, the editors wish to document the daily events and highlight memorable experiences, March 11-16.
The group of 23 students and six adults met at the Mineta San Jose International Airport (SJC) to take a red-eye flight to John F. Kennedy (JFK) International Airport in NYC, March 11. Throughout the trip, students will tour various locations on Manhattan, including Ellis Island, Wall Street, Ground Zero and the Empire State Building.
While the majority of the staff is gone for the week, those who remain are challenged with the task of updating the newspaper and informing the student body of weekly events.
Staff members arrived at the San Jose airport separately and made their through check in, security and finally to Gate eight. They utilized their two-hour wait by eating dinner at various places in the airport, doing homework and resting.
