The art of caricatures paints people in a new light, exaggerating and distorting features that make the individual unique.
Drawing a caricature requires the artist to choose which aspect to highlight, resulting in a representation that reflects the artist’s own interpretation.
In an effort to help the student body learn more about others on campus, The Feather has reenlisted junior Miriam DeWolf to draw a caricature of someone at school every week.
This is the 27th installment in the Guess Who? series.
Can you guess who this is? Let us know in the comments below.
Answer: This caricature is Matt Adams, ’13.
More on Miriam
The daughter of Kimberly DeWolf, a support services provider for the Learning Resource Center, Miriam enjoys drawing and reading.
She looks forward to sharing her art with The Feather’s readers and illustrating people on campus in her own style.

I am not a San Francisco 49ers fan but watching the game and seeing the end was kind of a depressing way to end the season. There is always next year Mr. Lee!

I’ve been a 49ers fan ever since my dad first yelled at the TV, but I never really caught the passion for the team until this year. I loved watching the games, and after every win I posted on Facebook two meaningful words: “Niners Baby!”
When they lost in overtime yesterday I didn’t really feel much pain or sadness at all. But they say that after you lose a loved one it doesn’t really become real until a few days later. Today after school I saw my dad and told him that I was sad the 49ers lost. We mournfully embraced, and shed one manly tear each, which we caught in a bottle, and now our tears sit on the television set until next year.
My mother still hasn’t seen the bottle…

Most people who know me are aware I have never been interested in football. This is why my parents were surprised about my sudden interest in the 49ers. Mr. Lee gave our class a reason to get excited over “football.”It saddens me greatly as I will be mourning the demise of our “Super Bowl” party. Mr. Lee, I know your pain is unbearable but just remember tennis season will be starting soon! Go EAGLES!
