In order to celebrate the result of the second home football game verses Avenal, Student Leadership will be holding a 5th Quarter at Me-N-Eds Pizza located at Cedar and Herndon, Sept. 21.
Admission is $5 for students, $7 for non-students, $20 for families and free for football players. This includes unlimited cheese and pepperoni pizza and a fountain drink.
Junior Mikayla Messer appreciates the venue, feeling it is a better place for students and families to convene. With food, drinks and friends it’s a great environment, she said.
“I’ve never been to a 5th Quarter at Me-N-Eds,” Messer said. “But I think it’s a better environment for students. There’s food, drinks, friends and a place to sit. I’m not sure if I’m going yet but if I do go I know I will have a good time.”
After working on the preparations for this event, sports POD leader Stephan Melendez, ’13, is enthusiastic about the turnout and overall experience.
“I chose Me-N-Eds because it’s small and I think the atmosphere filled with students will be great,” Melendez said. “I expect there to be a good turnout because we’ve had good attendance in the past. Me-N-Eds seems to attract more people, probably because of the food.”
Student leadership advisor Robert Foshee is excited for the commencement of 5th Quarter. Foshee believes 5th Quarter is a great way to bring students together.
“It’s a lot of fun,” Foshee said. “People should bring all their friends because it’s going to be a great time; they won’t want to miss it. Me-N-Eds is also a very convenient place to hold it because you don’t have to drive from the game to get there.”
