Every day something new happens in the world of sports. A game is played, a practice is run, a transaction is completed, etc. Whether pro, college, or high school sports, there is always something going on.
Sophomore Christopher Grossman and rookie teacher Eric Witters have joined forces to bring the patrons of The Feather Online a new podcast about all things sports dubbed “Goin’ Pro”. The duo analyzes the ongoings of things in the sports world and then regurgitates them with their own opinions in an up-beat, conversational style.
This week’s podcast is centered mainly on football, both NCAA and NFL. The two cover many sub-topics and even throw in a little bit of NBA basketball.
To start off the two talk about the BCS national rankings and how Notre Dame and Alabama found their way to the top two. The National Championship Game is thrown around a bit as they predict the competitors. They continue with the college football vibe by thoroughly talking through the hometown Fresno State Bulldogs’ successful year, their hopeful bowl victory, their new system, and their future. The candidates for the Heisman Trophy also provide a discussion topic.
The duo then switches gears to talk about professional basketball, namely the battle over who the best team in New York is: the classic New York Knicks or the Brooklyn Nets. The Nets recently moved from New Jersey to Brooklyn, so the two offer their opinions on the potential impact they’ll have on the basketball market in New York.
The two end with more football – the NFL. The San Diego Chargers and Baltimore Ravens game, the New York Jets franchise, and Grossman presents a theory on how weather can affect a team’s performance.
