Every day something new happens in the world of sports. A game is played, a practice is run, a transaction is completed, etc. Whether pro, college, or high school sports, there is always something going on.
Sophomore Christopher Grossman and rookie teacher Eric Witters have joined forces to bring the patrons of The Feather Online a new podcast about all things sports dubbed “Goin Pro”. The duo analyzes the ongoings of things in the sports world and then regurgitates them with their own opinions in an up-beat, conversational style.
This week’s podcast covers recent happenings in the NCAA, NFL and NBA basketball.
The two kick things off with some BCS action, discussing the national title game between Notre Dame and Alabama, the Fiesta Bowl between Oregon and Kansas State, and the Heisman Trophy candidates.
The co-hosts then invite Maury Turner in to talk about pro basketball, including the recent benching of many San Antonio Spurs’ starters, the decisions of commissioner David Stern, and the Chicago Bulls’ chances of turning around their season and making the playoffs.
The group ends with more football – this time the NFL. They discuss the effect of steroids/HGH in pro sports and how prevalent it’s usage is among injured players. The topic of athletes’ physical enhancement sparks references to all major sports and ties in to the miraculous recoveries of running backs Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Charles. They also publish their opinions on which teams will reach the playoffs and which teams will fall apart.
