Every day something new happens in the world of sports. A game is played, a practice is run, a transaction is completed, etc. Whether pro, college, or high school sports, there is always something going on.
Sophomore Christopher Grossman and rookie teacher Eric Witters have joined forces to bring the patrons of The Feather Online a new podcast about all things sports dubbed “Goin Pro”. The duo analyzes the ongoings of things in the sports world and then regurgitates them with their own opinions in an up-beat, conversational style.
In their final podcast of the semester, Grossman and Witters discuss free agent signings in the MLB, the winner of the Heisman Trophy, and talk about recent action in the NBA.
The two start off with the high profile MLB signings of Zach Grienke to the Los Angeles Dodgers and Josh Hamilton to the Anaheim Angels. They talk about the deals and how they will affect the respective teams. This discussion paves a path for more talk about the extremely expensive contracts in pro sports.
Then they move into talk about the winner of the Heisman Trophy: Johnny Manziel. They argue over the legitimacy of his candidacy and marvel at the fact that Manziel is the first freshman to ever win it, even though he’s older than former winner Mark Ingram was at the time of his victory.
The duo ends with NBA talk. They discuss the Los Angeles Lakers’ recent losing binge, the New York Knicks success, and possible title contenders.
PODCAST: Duo wraps up first semester of show: Dec. 13 , 2012–
