Every day something new happens in the world of sports. A game is played, a practice is run, a transaction is completed, etc. Whether pro, college, or high school sports, there is always something going on.
Sophomore Christopher Grossman and rookie teacher Eric Witters have joined forces to bring the patrons of The Feather Online a new podcast about all things sports dubbed “Goin Pro”. The duo analyzes the ongoings of things in the sports world and then regurgitates them with their own opinions in an up-beat, conversational style.
In their second podcast of the semester, Grossman and Witters discuss the NFL postseason, the recent standings in the NBA, the possible team changes, and the beginning of the NHL season.
The two start off with talk of the NFL postseason – the Pro Bowl and the upcoming Super Bowl between the San Francisco 49ers and the Baltimore Ravens. The Super Bowl is the largest annual sporting event and will take place on Feb. 3.
The two also talk about the NBA season and how it’s played out. They discuss the postseason chances of the Los Angeles Lakers and how they stack up against other teams in the league.
The NHL Lockout has finally ended, so Grossman and Witters invite Journalism advisor and hockey fanatic Greg Stobbe to give his opinion on the surprising start to the new season.
Finally, the co-hosts offer their opinions on the changes occurring within a couple NBA franchises. The Sacramento Kings were recently bought out and are reportedly planning on moving to Seattle to replace the Super-Sonics – the now Oklahoma City Thunder. Also, the New Orleans Hornets have changed their team mascot to the Pelicans.
