On Friday, the school will hold a special chapel, where Alumna Kenna Wheeler, ’12, will be coming to visit the campus with her drama class, March 22.
Wheeler now attends Oklahoma Christian University (OC) where she is involved in the Honors Program. She expounds upon her reasons for participating in drama as well as the excitement of coming to the campus for a showing.
“I got involved in Visions because a lot of the members, including myself, are in the Honors program,” Wheeler said. “We’re performing in chapel tomorrow and I am quite excited, we’ve been doing a tour all week from Phoenix to Escondido and Fresno.”
Wheeler also explains the production she is involved with at her college.
“The drama is set in Burnsville, Minnesota, in the 1950s, Wheeler said. “An 18-year-old girl, Sandra, has come home from a summer camp and has this radical faith; the drama is basically about her figuring out what radical faith can be and how to help others around her realize their faith as well.”
Wheeler enjoys playing the role in the drama, she also enjoys performing because she gets to be some one she really is not. Since she has attended FC, she looks forward to going back to her roots.
“I really love the character I take on, I’m a British hobo and so that is a completely different person, accent and personality than I normally have,” Wheeler said. “I am excited to be back at FCS. I’m excited to see people again and spread knowledge of OC to people who may not know about it; I think it’ll be great!”
English teacher, Molly Sargent, and former teacher of Wheeler, explains her excitement to view the drama.
“It will be nice to see a familiar face at the school, I am proud of what Kenna has accomplished and it will be nice to see her perform with her classmates,” Sargent said. “I think it will be an interesting production and fun for the school to see.”
