After performing their first Harlem Shake video in honor of National Journalism Week, six of the staff members decided to make another video. The difference, this time, is that the six students were in New York for the Columbia Scholastic Press Association (CSPA) journalism conference, March 18-23.
Seniors Maddie Yee, Juan Ruelas, Stephan Melendez, juniors Tynin Fries, Viviana Hinojosa and sophomore Callista Fries were all participants in the videos. Also, adviser Greg Stobbe and chaperone Angie Fries can also be seen in the backgrounds of some of the shots.
In this first video, the students danced to the Harlem Shake in a variety of places. The first was on the tram in the San Francisco airport before leaving to New York. The second was at the top of the Empire State Building. The third was in one of many lounges at Columbia University and the last was on steps in front of the campus.
For the last segment of the video, the six staff members had help from another staff also attending the conference.
