Although not many people are familiar with mushroom dishes, they can simply be put into pasta in order to add some extra flavor. When ground beef and mushrooms are added to red sauce pasta, the simple dish can transform into an elegant meal. This fast, simple recipe will be ideal for teens looking for different variety of pasta dishes.
Ingredients:
4 table spoons of extra virgin olive oil
1 lb Cooked ground beef
2 boxes (32 ounce) of Penne pasta
3 bottles of Rao’s red sauce
4 packs of mushrooms in 8oz pack
3 cloves of garlic
1/2 onion
1 table spoon of garlic pepper
Directions:
1. In a preheated pan, pour olive oil before putting any ingredients in. After the oil gets warm, cook the pre-cut garlic cloves until they turn light brown. Then, add onion and cook over medium heat for about 10 minutes until both onions and garlic cloves are throughly cooked.
2. Add ground beef, mushrooms and garlic pepper. Raise heat to high and stir all ingredients for five minutes. Then, lower the heat to medium and add red sauce. Cover the saucepan and wait 15 minutes until the aroma rises.
3. After the sauce is completed, salt and pepper may be added depends on one’s preference. Next, adjust the heat to low, since it takes about 10 minutes to boil the pasta.
4. Boil water in a large pot for five minutes. Once the water gets hot, add pasta and cook for 8 minutes. Then, take the pasta out and rinse with cold water. After the pasta is ready, serve with sauce over.
This convenient and easy meal will feed around five people. It can also be served with garlic bread on the side.
