As the last two weeks of school come to a close, seniors look forward to the annual Senior Trip, May 18-20. Students must arrive on campus before 8:50 a.m. for departure to Southern California, where they will spend three days together before graduation.
Several faculty staff members, including Vickey Belmont, will accompany students on their trip to various locations. Belmont looks forward to visiting the various locations with the seniors.
“I look forward to spending time with the Seniors, and getting to know them more personally,” Belmont said. “Being able to hang out with them at the beach and setting up a bonfire sounds nice too, but I’m really looking forward to going to Disneyland.”
Senior Rachael Quiring is looking forward to the trip events, and hopes to enjoy the trip.
“We’re going to have a wonderful time at Senior Trip; it’s one of the highlights of high school,” Quiring said. “Unfortunately I’m going to miss a big chunk of it because I have to come home and sing in a choir concert for the Bok children’s choir, but I’m excited about Disneyland; just running around all day without much supervision, would be fun.”
Bible teacher Robert Foshee is also going on the trop, he enjoys spending time with seniors and hopes that the Senior Trip will help students reflect on their achievements this year.
“After the senior finals they’ll {seniors} get a chance for a few days to spend some time together, and enjoy the rest of the year,” Foshee said. “We started the year going to Senior Retreat where the students looked forward to the year talking about what God has done for their lives so far, and now the whole year has gone by and the seniors get a chance to put a period at the end and say it’s our last time together as a group.”
Music Director Michael Ogdon looks forward to spending some time with everyone attending the trip, also.
“I really enjoy spending time with the people going on the trip; not just the seniors, but with some of the other teachers and personnel,” Ogdon said. “I went at the beginning of the year to the Senior Retreat, and so It’d be good chance to come back full circle after a full year of school, to say well what was the best thing?”
Matt Howard, ’12, looks forward to the trip in hopes of spending more time with friends before graduation.
“During the summer, I might not be able to see some of the friends I’ve made during the school year,” Howard said. “So I’m looking forward of having the opportunity to spend time with my friends and teachers for three days.”
