“Life moves pretty fast. You don’t stop and look around once in awhile, you could miss it,” Matthew Broderick said in John Hughes 1980s classic movie, Ferris Bueller?s Day Off. I feel like one day I was a freshman then the next day I woke up and I was a senior. That is how high school feels to a senior ? everything went by too fast.
Each moment counts because time won’t stop for you; time just keeps moving. My senior year is over now but looking back on everything that happened through high school, I’m happy that everything happened the way it did.
High school is a very important time in one’s life because teens grow so much during high school and learn so many lessons. It is a time where students might learn what you want to do when grown up, learn more about who you are and who you want to be.
Being a senior, there is a great deal that I learned in those four years, but the best advice I can give is simply do not be afraid. This is good advice for high school and for life because one should always make the most of each moment.
What I mean by this is don’t be afraid to try new things, take hard classes, join a new sport or club or just take chances in general. In taking chances you live life to the fullest, yes, you might experience some trials and tribulation along the way, but it will make you stronger in the end.
I came to Fresno Christian two years ago after attending San Joaquin Memorial. That was taking a very big chance for me because I was leaving one path for another. I did not know what to expect, but in hindsight it was one of the best decisions that I ever made because I received a great education that?s biblically based, and I met a lot of great people.
I can’t tell what the future holds for me and my destiny but what I do know is I want to make each moment count and find the purpose that God has called me to do.
