We really worked well together as a team. I wasn’t expecting us to do as well as we did with new players and a new coach and I can’t wait for the rest of the season.–Hannah Nale, ’17
New head coach Jonathan Penberthy saw potential in his team.
“I think we didn’t play to our potential,” Penberthy said. “However, I thought we did really well for three-fourths of the game.”
As a veteran player, Senior Ivette Ibarra was pleased with the turnout of the game yet still felt the team had a few things to work on.
“One thing our team could work on is consistency,” Ibarra said. “We need to be more alert and always be aware of where the ball is going.”
Sophomore Hannah Nale felt excited as it was her first game as a starter and enjoyed how the team played.
“We really worked well together as a team,” says Nale. “I wasn’t expecting us to do as well as we did with new players and a new coach and I can’t wait for the rest of the season.”
The next match for the Eagles will be Aug. 26 against Immanuel at FC. They will enter the Caruthers Raisin Tournament, Aug. 27-30.
