Eagles Take Advantage of Break
The 2014-’15 boys basketball season is underway! The Eagles are six games into the season and stand at a record of 2-4. This year the Eagles return seven members of last year’s team, including five seniors: Aaron Dewolf, Trevor Beal, Chris Grossman, Cole Nale and Toby Pan.
The Eagles defeated Yosemite High in the tip off game and the team seemed to play together and gel with chemistry according to Phillip Christopher.
“Watching the varsity team gel and come together on offense and defense was really cool,” Christopher said. “Both teams are starting to gain confidence and chemistry and I believe it will lead to more success.”
The team played in their first tournament at Madera South High School last week, Dec. 3-6. FC was the only Division V team present at the tournament and was pitted against large schools like Madera and Madera South High School.
Trevor Beal was selected to the All Tournament team for his performance in all four games. Not coming away with any wins, the Eagles are hungry for the next one.
The Eagles traveled to Woodlake High School for a JV and varsity competition, Dec. 9. JV came up short agains the Tigers for their third loss of the year, but the varsity team on the other hand laid a thick 20-point win on their record, with Trevor Beal scoring 24 points, and Aaron Dewolf adding 13.
The Eagles will host back-to-back home games against Alpaugh High School on Dec. 11 and Kings Christian the arch nemesis of FC, Dec. 12.
Be sure to come see your Eagles tear up the competition before Christmas break!
The Eagles are also playing during the Christmas break. They will play in the Liberty Ranchos Hawk Classic Tournament, Dec. 19-23. They open with games against Firebaugh on Dec. 19 and Dos Palos on Dec. 20. Please check the FC Eagles MaxPreps site for up to date information.
