Every year, the seventh grade students travel back in time to the ancient world, along the most historical trade routes around the world. The annual World Market took place in the high school lunch ground.
In order to increase their understanding of the customs of early shopping markets, the seventh grade class chooses a country from a list created by history teacher, Ellen King, not pictured. Pairs of students were required to sell products fit to their country in ethnic themed booths.
Each year, elementary students attend the market in the morning to prepare the seventh graders for the arrival of the eighth grade students in the afternoon. Emmeline Whitcomb, ’13, right, portrayed an Arabian entrepreneur for the market, April 25. Juniors Chelsea Joy, left, Janae Keys, left center, assisted King as supervisors and with the grading the process.
