After their first win and game of the season, the Lady Eagles challenged Madera South and came out the victor, 57-36, Dec. 4. In addition to putting their record at 2-0, the team also set precedents on a personal level. Senior Larissa Hensley scored her 1,000th point.
“My teammates have been a huge part in my basketball career,” Hensley said. “I could not have scored 1,000 points without them. It was exciting to find out I had made that many points in my career and I’m looking forward to seeing how the rest of the season turns out.”
Hensley emphasized the importance of her teammates over her career.
“After playing with these girls for three years we get to know each others’ strengths and weaknesses,” Hensley continued, “and that’s why the scoring is so spread out between the players.”
