Dating back to the end of the 2014-15 school year, football season has been in full swing. Along with the early morning practices, scorching hot night practices and two-a-days, 31 players have pushed their bodies to the limits for the past four months.
During two-a-days, teams will become more prepared for the upcoming season. Coach Mick Fuller feels that a lot can be accomplished through various types of conditioning and skill development.
“This is my tenth year coaching FC football,” Fuller said. “Two-a-days allow the team to have additional time to condition, video and playbook study and skill development. I am looking forward to a good season.”
Freshman offensive linemen Eli Evans was one of the few who were against two-a-day practices. While the practices were ok, he was not a fan of multiple practices in one day.
“I have been playing football for 5 years,” Evans said. “The two-a-days were ok, but it did stink to have two practices in one day. I think that we have a good team and I expect a lot from us.”
Two a days may be tough, but according to Tyler Villines, ’18, that is how a team grows.
“I have played HS football for a year,” Villines said. “As much as I did not like the two-a-days, they were good for us. We grew in our game and were able to get faster and stronger. I think that we’ll be very successful in this upcoming season.”

Although practices can be fun, Sophomore Sage Sobrado feels that waking up early during your break from school can stink.
“I have played football for seven years,” Sobrado said. “The two-a-days were pretty fun; we got a lot of stuff done and learned a lot of plays. It did stink to have to get up early over the summer. I think that we will win a lot this season.”
Captain Tyler Breedlove, ’16, will be leading the offense as he plays quarterback this season. He feels confident that the team will do well this year.
“I have played football since I was eight years old, and have played varsity for three years,” Breedlove said. “The two-a-days were interesting to have. I wish we had more for the upcoming season. I feel like we will win a lot of games this year.”
The Eagles are looking for and expecting success this year. The Eagles will next host Riverdale Christian, Sept. 18.
