Student leadership is taking a more active role in promoting student involvement throughout this new school year. Return to read about how FC students are actively learning, serving and promoting the events on and off campus in this article series.
The next upcoming event is the second rally of the year, the American rally. Each class is encouraged to decorate their class section according to the theme. The class sections will be brightened up by the leadership students after school on Sept. 18.
This Friday, Sept. 18, the football team has a home game against Riverdale Christian at 7 p.m. Come cheer on the team in the student section! There will also be a full trip-tip dinner. Come prepared to spend a little and munch on a real dinner at the game.
Homecoming is approaching and classes are starting to create floats and get ready for the big night, Oct. 16. Every class has to pick one theme to focus the class float on. This year, the theme for homecoming is Vacation Destination, so all floats must be incorporated with that theme.
All leadership representatives must turn in the float information forms to Vickey Belmont in class on Mon. Sept. 21.

The freshman float theme is India, sophomores are tackling Canada, juniors are Hawaii and the senior theme is Venice, Italy .
Sadies this year will be at Great America, Sept. 26, the school will be dressed up as Sadie’s Somewhere in Time. Students must meet near the SMC (Ground Zero) at 6:30 a.m. with money and snacks for the bus ride.
Sophomore Roman Endicott reports that he is very excited for the event, and is looking forward to the bus ride above all.
“I just got asked to go, and I’m pretty excited,” Endicott said. “I’m probably most excited for the bus ride, and hanging with my friends. Usually you meet new people on trips like this, so hopefully it’ll be a good chance for my class to bond.”
