After six months of inactivity, The Feather is finally back online. With a tradition of success behind it and a technologically advanced design, the website is poised to return as a daily multimedia newspaper.
Adviser Greg Stobbe feels that since The Feather is not like any other paper in America, it will be prone to draw the attention of readers everywhere.
“The original Feather, was built in 2001,” Stobbe said. “It was never built to be a multi media paper. We rebuilt our paper with a multi media aspect as its main focus. The Feather is not built like anything else. We needed to be at the forefront of technology again. It’s built upon pictures, videos, and slideshows. I don’t know if we’ll be the top, but we’ll certainly draw the attention of readers.”
Features editor Skyler Lee, ’16 says the new design of the site will attract greater viewership to the features section. She hopes the individual articles will highlight the unique lives of students and residents within the Fresno community.
“The features section is more appealing to the public now because of the imagery,” Lee said. ” Our collaboration with the Photojournalist will definitely draw readers to each section. In this way, I hope that the individual features articles will get more views. Ultimately the goal of this section is to shed some light on the daily lives of average people both at the school and in our community.”

Emily Ladd, ’16, feels that with a fresh start, The Feather will definitely remain a top newspaper in America.
“I have been with The Feather for four years,” Ladd said. “The new image is a way to update ourselves, and give us a fresh start. It is easier to navigate, everything is on one page and social media is more available. We are fired up and I definitely think we will remain one of the top papers in America.”
With the modern design of the new Feather, Co-Editor in Chief, Rees Roggenstein, ’16, feels that The Feather will retain its title as a top newspaper in America
“The old Feather was breaking down, and falling apart,” Roggenstein said. “We had to rebuild the entire website. The new design is very clean and modern. We were able to remain a top paper, even while the website was falling apart. Now that we have a clean and fresh design, I don’t see any reason why we can’t come back and attain what we had before.”
Excited by the changes taking place Co-Editor and Chief, Chloe Mueller, ’16, shares her perspective on the new website and how it has drawn the staffers together.
“The changes taking place with the Feather are exciting,” Mueller said. “With the changes, there has come a renewed energy. Staffers and editors are putting more work in than ever before, in hopes of delivering a stunning website. Everyone on staff gets to be a part of a new era of the Feather, we’re all working together towards this all-encompassing goal. I’ve never seen the staff so united.”
