WEEKLY CAMPUS ANNOUNCEMENTS FOR SEPT. 21 – SEPT. 26

Campus administration is looking for an elementary girls volleyball coach. If interested, contact Jon Penberthy or at the school, 559-299-1695, ext 108.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.

Sports Events the Week of 9/21 – 9/25

Monday

JH volleyball at Hamilton, 3 p.m.

Tuesday

HS volleyball at Liberty, 5:30 p.m.

HS girls tennis at Coalinga, 4 p.m.

Wednesday

JH volleyball at Tehipite, 3 p.m.

Thursday

HS volleyball vs Avenal at 5:30 p.m.

HS girls tennis at Caruthers, 4 p.m.

Friday

HS football vs Mojave. Kick-off at 7 p.m.

 

CAMPUS NEWS

FC is sponsoring a Christian College Fair at noon Sept. 22 just outside the Peoples Church gym. Over 30 colleges and local colleges will be on hand to share admissions and financial aid policies. For more information, contact Michelle Warkentin, FCS academic advisor. Additionally, Buchanan High School is also sponsoring a Christian College Fair later that night from 6-8:30 p.m. Look for a Feather brief on the fair.

See You at the Pole

Please join student leaders at the 2015 See You at the Pole event, Sept. 23. Students from all across the nation will gather in front of their school’s flag poles at 7 a.m. local time to pray for their school, teachers, city and state leaders, and the leaders of America. Please come prepared to sing as the worship team, student leadership and The Feather will join together with the Fresno Christian student body to pray and worship God. For more information, watch the SYATP video. The event was started by a group of teenagers in Burleson, Texas, in 1990.

Sister to Sister and Brother to Brother

The Brother to Brother and Sister to Sister “Meet and Greet” has been moved to Sept. 23, because of the College Fair at lunch on the 22. Please note the change.

CJSF Meeting

CJSF will meet Sept. 22 at lunch in room 628. Bring your lunch and be prompt!

 

Sadies at Great America!

We will be leaving FC at approximately 7 a.m., Sept. 26.

Arrive at Great America at approximately 10 a.m. when the park opens

The park closes at 5:30 p.m.; we will load the buses at 5 p.m. to head back to FC

Tickets are on sale now! $60 per ticket

This event is a HS only event.

SENIORS

Seniors who are planning on applying to a local community college: The representative from Clovis Community College Center will be on campus on Sept. 21 at 11 a.m. in the computer lab. Students will be able to complete their SCCCD application at this event! However they must have their security number memorized or written down in order to complete the application.

SAT registration

Seniors who missed the registration deadline for the Oct. 3 SAT test will have until Sept. 22 to meet the late registration deadline. You can register for the test at the CollegeBoard website.

ESL help for International Students

Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 for ESL support for our international students.

PSAT offered

The PSAT test will be offered on Oct. 14 at 8 a.m. in the FC gym. This test is mandatory for ALL juniors and highly recommended for sophomores. The test is free of charge for FC students. Junior students are automatically signed up, however sophomore students must sign up with Vickie Belmont in the high school office by Sept. 23.
