See You at the Pole 2015 brought teens across the nation to pray for their school, teachers, local, state and national politicians, Sept. 23, 2015. The event was held at the campus quad area where the attenders worshiped and prayed for various subjects, Sept. 23, from 7-7:30 a.m.

The program opened with Tyler Villines, ‘18, singing Scandal of Grace with Reece Trevino, ‘19, using the guitar and Trevor Trevino, ‘17, on the Cajon.

This was not the first time Tyler Villines has been to See You at the Pole. Villines enjoyed singing and being there. Villines also believes in the power of prayer.

“I really enjoyed singing and seeing all of the people come out and pray together,” Villines said. “See You at the Pole really impacted me because it showed us really what we needed to be in pray about and also how much God cares for us. Governmental affairs should definitely be kept in prayer because of all the issues that are being presented to our leaders.”

After Scandal of Grace concluded, Trevor Trevino took the spotlight reading Acts 1:14. The worship ended with Macy Mascarenas singing closer and Villines singing Amazing Grace.

After the worship was finished the students and adults broke off into small groups and prayed on a number of topics including students around the world, Fresno Christian administration and staff, the government, families and friends also in prayer.

Reece Trevino ‘19, played the guitar at SYATP. It was Trevino’s first time being at the event.

“I really like playing the guitar for other people,” Trevino said. “I also really like sharing the gospel through worship. I really enjoyed the event and I would do it again. See you at the Pole got me thinking about prayer more than what I usually think about praying and how important it is.”

Robert Foshee is a high school teacher that specializes in a variety of classes. He enjoys seeing students come out and voluntary support See you at the Pole.

“See You at the Pole is a national movement where students across the country come together in prayer for various events,” Foshee said. “Our theme this year was unity and it was based on Acts 1:14. Anytime I can see young people come out voluntary, they are showing that they want to impact people with the power of prayer.”

Also at See You at the Pole, Brandon Brogan, ’19, seemed to enjoy attending the event.

“I came out to See You at the Pole because of the fact I get to pray for students around the world and also Fresno Christian staff and administration,” Brogan said. “I felt like I was called to pray for these people so that they would have guidance and help from God.”

This was the second time John Monke, ’19, has come out to See You at the Pole before. Monke enjoys coming out to See You at the Pole and coming to other events to represent student leadership.

“I am in leadership and as a leader we should go out and support school events,” Monke said. “See You at the Pole got me thinking about praying for the upcoming election. I enjoyed coming together and praying in small groups about the various topics chosen for us to pray about.”

After See You at the Pole ended, the campus choral ensemble sold muffins for $2 each to benefit their trip to New York in the spring to sing at Carnagie Hall.
