It’s the 125th anniversary of Yosemite National Park being established on Oct. 1, 1890.
Yosemite was first founded when Lincoln passed the Yosemite Land Grant Act, which allowed land to be put aside for preservation and public enjoyment. This national park is home to Half Dome and the giant sequoia trees.
All month long there will be special activities anyone can partake in to commemorate Yosemite’s anniversary. The celebration will include The Lure and Lore of Yosemite Exhibit at the Yosemite Sierra Visitors Bureau in Oakhurst, CA.
