Dear editor,
The superintendent’s desire for Fresno Christian to be technologically advanced is a good one as long as it does not put a dent in our school’s wallet. The article May 12 “Innovation Revolutionizes Classroom,” by Ashley Cook, promotes a “Smart Board” that will provide a boost in our classrooms.
Although I appreciate the schools eagerness to have advanced technology, should we really be spending time and money on costly Smart Boards, rather than boosting curriculum? The Smart Board is a large touch screen that the teachers will use for lectures and presentations.
When the article states that the Smart Board will provide a boost in the classroom, my question is, ” for who?” It talks about ease for the teachers with their lectures and presentations. The smart board is a boost for the teachers.
Our school’s vision for the future is a great one, as long as it does not become a priority over the quality of the curriculum. I hope that The Feather will further elaborate on the purpose and benefits of the Smart Board.
