The noise in the room is deafening as campus students eat pizza with their friends rehash the football game that ended just hours before. A 5th Quarter will be held after the home football game at Luna’s Pizzeria located in downtown Clovis on Sept. 17.
Students pay $6 for all-you-can-eat pizza, pasta, salad, bread and unlimited drinks. The party usually lasts until 11 P.M
“Students should come to fellowship with each other after the game and see the football players,” Ericlee Gilmore, math teacher, said. “Our school has been doing 5th Quarters since I was a student.”
Students come to Luna’s the free food and an extended time of fellowship with one another. It also gives the football players a chance to be with their friends after their game.
“People come to 5th Quarter because they want to be with their friends,” Carson Belmont, ’05, said. “Since I play football, I don’t get to see my friends during the game, so it’s nice to have time to hang out with them.”
Fans from the Nuthouse keep the school spirit alive.
“There is a lot of food and fellowshipping?it’s loud!” Will Hierholzer, ’07, said. “The 5th quarter helps us bond together after the football games.”
