The FC ladies ensemble, Bellezza, under the leadership of Susan Ainley received the opportunity to travel to New York City and travel to Carnegie Hall after their win at the American Heritage Festival. The trip is scheduled for April 25 – May 2.
The group has their first large payment due in March, which means a lot of fundraising in. They have performed at everything from sporting events to private parties to selling lunches in an effort to raise enough money for the trip to NYC.
Senior Brooklynn Barth is hopeful that the their effort and hard work will pay off.
“Ainley has been finding different ways fundraise non-stop,” Barth said. “We’ve probably sung the national anthem close to one hundred times, but we all knew this trip would require hard work. A nice vacation at the end of all this fundraising will definitely be a nice treat.”
Carnegie Hall is known as New York’s oldest concert venue and opened in Midtown Manhattan in April of 1891. Receiving an invitation to perform at the auditorium that debuted Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is chance that Bellezza will not give up on.
The group is still taking donations and any amount of money will help. Any questions can be directed to Ainley.
