The weekend was sunny and clear up at China Peak, with a high of 62 degrees, Feb. 16.
China Peak has started off a strong season with a total of over 210″ of snow fall. Their task will be keeping their base layer of packed snow to last for the remainder of the season. Currently the entire mountain is still open, however they have not received snow in over a week. Due to the warm weather conditions that are brought from El Nińo the resort is not able to blow snow at night because it is not cold enough. During the day the snow is melting and partially freezing over nights causing very icy slopes.
