Throughout this particular piece Josh Hopper, ’12, (not pictured) soloed and won the best solo award. In the group’s other funk piece, Carter was featured in most of the second half. Though more modern jazz songs were the focus of the competition for the group, they decided collectively to play Hawaiian War Chant to mix up the set list.
