The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from Feb. 29 – Mar. 4, 2016.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.

Tuesday
Varsity boys basketball at Strathmore, 7 p.m. CIF playoff game.
Varsity boys baseball Minarets Tournament vs Sierra, at 3:30 p.m.
Varsity boys tennis at Caruthers, 4 p.m.
Wednesday
Varsity girls softball vs CVC at 3:30 p.m.
Thursday
Varsity boys baseball Minarets Tournament at Roosevelt, 3:30 p.m.
Friday
Varsity boys tennis at Central Cal Tennis Classic at Fresno City College, 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Saturday
Varsity boys baseball Minarets Tournament opponent and time TBD
Varsity boys tennis at Central Cal Tennis Classic at Fresno City College 8 a.m. – 2 p.m.
Varsity track and field at Christian Schools Invitation at CVC, 10 a.m.
T.E.A. Talks
A new group called TEA Talks has formed on campus and is lead by juniors Hannah Nale and Jennifer King. It is open to all HS girls and is meant to build friendships in Christ while encouraging others and learning about the Word.
Juniors taking the SAT
Juniors who are planning to take the SAT, March 5, must register online through College Board by the Feb. 5 deadline. Late registration still accepted. If you are interested in SAT/ACT prep courses, contact Michelle Warkentin.

Spring Formal
Fresno Christian’s Spring Formal, formally known as NOTS, will be held a Wolf Lakes, April 2, 2016. The theme this year will be set in the Roaring 20’s and tickets will be available starting Feb. 29, price TBA. More information will be available soon.
Brother to Brother
Brother to Brother will have an on-campus lunch for older and younger brothers, Feb. 29 and an older brother training, Mar. 1.
Sister to Sister
Sister to Sister will have an on campus lunch for older and younger sisters, Mar. 2.
Break the Barriers
FC is looking for students to volunteer for Break the Barriers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer work will count for hours toward CSF.
College Trip
The annual college trip has been scheduled for April 4-5. The trip will include visits to Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, Westmont and UC Santa Barbara. If interested, sign up with Kerry Roberts in building 5 with a $100 check or cash by Thurs, March 3.
Juniors
A college representative from Fresno Pacific University will be presenting in the junior English classes on Tuesday Feb 23.
A college representative from William Jessup University will be presenting in the junior advisory class on Monday Feb 29.
Seniors
Seniors who have applied to a local SCCCD community college must complete their online orientation as soon as possible. If you have any questions please contact Michelle Warkentin.
The Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) filing period is open from Jan. 1 – Mar. 2. This is an application for free financial assistance for college and also the application for The Middle-Class Scholarship. For more information about how to apply contact Michelle Warkentin or visit https://fafsa.ed.gov/
Local Cash for College Workshops are also being held now where you can receive help completing the application http://www.csac.ca.gov/ccfc.asp.
ESL help for International Students
Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students. Any questions can be directed to Hill.
ON Campus Lunch Menu
JH/HS Leadership will offer lunch throughout the year on Thursday and Friday.
