From the beginning of the second semester, home economic students have switched from making food to working with fabric; specifically pajama pants, Feb. 29.
Sewing pajama pants may seem like an impossible task; however, Sharon Scharf walks students through the details including cutting out a design, using the sewing machine, and eventually how to insert an elastic band to complete the pants.
Students will be working on making pillow case and cross stitch for Mother’s day. The extra fabric from the pajama designs will be use for crazy quilt squares. This tasks students to use creativity, taking the leftover pieces of different pattern designs and putting together something new.
