Students in teacher Sharon Scharf’s art classes entered drawings of their representation of Fresno in “Postcards For the Valley” competition, Dec. 14. Out of 1,800 entries, 20 were chosen to be made into postcards and 2 from Fresno Christian.
Senior GeeHyun Park’s scratchboard of the Fresno Arch, was one of the chosen pieces. Along with Park, eighth grader Daniel Thao was also chosen with his Hmong farming cultural pencil drawing.
“This is Fresno’s iconic place and also the entrance to Fresno,” Park said. “So, I think it represents Fresno well.”
The postcards are on display at the Fresno Art Museum until the end of January 2012.
