The Feather brings its readers weekly FC campus announcements published the first day of each week. This week coverage is from May 16 – May 20, 2016.

As the sports schedule gets underway, consider supporting JH and HS athletes at our home games. The week’s athletic events are listed in the weekly announcements below.
Sports Events the Week of 5/16 – 5/20
Monday
JH girls softball at Hamilton, 2:45 p.m. Dismissal at 1:30 p.m.
JH tennis at St. Anthony, 3 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
HS football first day of spring practice at 4 p.m.
HS spring sports award banquet at 7 p.m.
Tuesday
HS varsity boys baseball playoff game. Location and time TBA.
Wednesday
JH track in North Area Trails at Hoover, 1:45 p.m. Dismissal at lunch.
JH softball vs Ft. Miller at 2:45 p.m. Dismissal at 1:45 p.m.
JH tennis vs Sequoia at 3 p.m. Dismissal at 2:10 p.m.
Thursday
HS varsity boys baseball possible playoff game. Location and time TBA.
Drama performance of “Hello Dolly”
Kyle Dodson’s drama class is putting on the musical production of Hello Dolly!, May 17. Tickets are $5 and the show begins at 7 p.m.
CSF Senior Banquet
CSF senior members will be honored with awards and dinner to commemorate their efforts in the club. The banquet will be in the JJ room from 6:30 p.m. – 8 p.m., May 23.

T.E.A. Talks
A new group called TEA Talks has formed on campus and is lead by juniors Hannah Nale and Jennifer King. It is open to all HS girls and is meant to build friendships in Christ while encouraging others and learning about the Word.
Yearbooks
Yearbook editors and adviser Andrea Donaghe honored Maintanence Supervisor Val Rivera during the last senior chapel. The seniors will be given their yearbooks May 18 and everyone else, May 26.
Baseball Playoff Game
The FC Athletic Dept. is pleased to announce that the Fresno Christian High School varsity baseball team will host a first round playoff game against Orosi High School.
The game will be Tuesday, May 17, here on the FC varsity diamond at 4:30 p.m., it is a CIF playoff game, there is a fee for admission for all attendees: $6 for adults, $4 for seniors, $4 for all students (id required)No FC issued passes, CIF season passes or league passes will be honored. The only passes accepted are CIF lifetime passes and CIF playoff passes. The entrance gate to the game will be located at the northeast corner of the FC gym, next to the music suite. We would like to have a big crowd for the game so plan on coming out Tuesday afternoon to cheer on the team.
Spring Football
Spring football will be from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on the north field, May 16 – 25. For those of you interested in checking out the program, this is the perfect week to do so. All current 9th – 11th grade boys are welcome.
CSF Meeting
There will be the last CSF meeting of the year in room 621 at lunch, May 19.
Sports Banquets
The high school spring sports awards event is Monday, May 16, at 7 p.m. in the PC gym. Coaches will be contacting teams and families with more information.

Writing Club
The club provides a space at school for students to explore interests in creative writing. For more information, contact club leaders Emily Ladd, Skyler Lee, or Nicole Hudecek.
Break the Barriers
FC is looking for students to volunteer for Break the Barriers on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Volunteer work will count for hours toward CSF.
Summer Programs Hosted at College Campuses
Now is the time to register for summer programs hosted at college campuses around the nation. Attending a summer program can be an amazing experience and add value to your college application. If you are a 10th or 11th grader and are interested in attending a program please contact Michelle Warkentin. Experiences range from ecology and engineering programs all the way to art and fashion programs.
Juniors
The next SAT test is on June 4, the registration deadline is May 5. If the deadline is missed you can still register for the test’s late registration with a fee at https://collegereadiness.collegeboard.org/sat
The next ACT test is on June 11, the registration deadline is May 6. You can register online at www.actstudent.org a
Senior Trip
Seniors will take their senior trip to the Los Angeles area, May 18-20.
ESL help for International Students
Tamara Hill will be available in the library on Mondays and Tuesdays from 3-4 p.m. for ESL support for our international students. Any questions can be directed to Hill.
ON Campus Lunch Menu
JH/HS Leadership will offer lunch throughout the year on Thursday and Friday.
