Hands shiver in winter’s mists; chills run down spines, and nothing seems to thaw the frost. Until now.
Every Monday and Thursday in January, student leadership will be selling coffee, hot chocolate and cookies during lunch.
“Buying cookies and hot chocolate is an inexpensive way to enjoy the cold season,” Josh Tosland, leadership advisor, said. “These simple treats also go to an agreeable cause.”
All proceeds of the bake sale will be going towards off-setting the costs of attending Night of the Stars, the campus winter formal.
“We felt the student body should not have to pay so much,” David Fujihara, ’08, said. “This is also an opportunity for us to make lunch more enjoyable.”
Student leadership is hoping for a productive turnout of buyers and hope that these winter sales will become a tradition at this campus.
“I think it is a good idea to try and defer the costs of formal,” Amanda Sherr,’07, said. “Simple activities like the bake sale go a long way towards making tickets cheaper, and will benefit the students in the end.”
