For the past decade, the FC eighth grade has gone on a field trip to the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library and Museum in Simi Valley, CA. This year’s students will embark on a bus a head down on Thursday, Nov. 17.

The museum shows the life history of Reagan, from childhood to becoming an actor and eventually becoming our 40th president. Students will also have the opportunity to see a replica of Reagan’s oval office, the retired model of Air Force One and a piece of the Berlin Wall.

One of the most interesting exhibits that the museum offers is the Air Force One plane. The museum allow students and chaperon to experience what the plane looks and feels like on the inside.

The leader of this field trip will be junior high history teacher Hallie Rojeski. She has been overseeing this trip for many years.

“I have been doing this trip for about 12-15 years,” Rojeski said. “The main reason I lead this trip for the students is for them to learn about Reagan, since we will not studying much about him in the classroom.”

Rylee Schwab, ‘21, wants to learn more about our history of presidency and having time to bond with piers.

“I am excited to get to learn more about our former president Ronald Reagan.” Schwab said. “I’m also stoked about spending more time with my fellow classmates.”

Last year attendant Wesley Hinton, ‘20, thought it was one of the coolest field trips.

“I loved the trip because it was fun learning about president Reagan,” Hinton said. “He was one of United States greatest president in my opinion. One of my favorite exhibits in the museum to me was seeing a piece of the Berlin Wall.”

The bus will be loaded at 7:30 a.m. in the Peoples Church parking lot in front of the globe. Students and chaperons will stop for lunch around 11:45 a.m. They should arrive at the museum at 1:00 p.m. Please pray for their safety as they go on this trip.
