Reece Trevino, ’19, works on a quiz in math lab during lunch, Feb. 10.
Math teacher Angie Counts offers opportunities such as math lab for students to gain more one on one time with her. Math II and precalculus classes are taught by Counts. math lab allows students to ask questions, recieve help on math homework and retake quizzes.
Angelica Escalera, ’19, finds extra time doing math with her teacher to be useful in understanding what they are learning in class. She explains why she thinks math lab is beneficial but also a waste of time.
“It’s beneficial when she finally gets to you because it’s an opportunity to learn from her one on one and you can go at the pace you want,” Escalera said. “It helps because sometimes she is able to explain it differently but there’s only one of her so it’s almost impossible to get all the help you need. I don’t go all the time because every time I have gone I haven’t really gotten the help I need.”
Math lab is offered on Tuesday’s and Friday’s at lunch.
