Senior student body president, Tara Albrechtson, was nominated by Fresno Christian administration for the Exchange Club of Fresno Girl of the Year Award. As the campus nominee, she received a plaque and $100.
Albrechtson will compete with the other candidates from 10 Fresno area high schools. The overall winner will receive a $1000 as the Exchange Club Girl of the Year.
The Exchange Club’s luncheon was held at the Ramada Inn at Highway 41 and Shaw Ave. in Fresno on Feb. 9 where Albrechtson received the plaque and check. The overall winner will be announced at the award’s banquet, Feb. 23.
During the presentation, Albrechtson was asked her goal in life and she talked about wanting to be a positive representation for Christ in the field of nursing.
“I am excited about pursuing a career in nursing because the opportunities to make an impact on a person’s life is so great,” Albrechtson said. “By placing myself in a community such as this, I believe that God will be able to use and test me.”
Jon Endicott, associate principal, attended the event with the multi-sport athlete and felt the school was well represented by the student leader and current varsity basketball starter.
“Fresno Christian is proud of Tara,? Endicott said. ?She is an excellent example of an outstanding student, athlete and contributor to our community. I am thankful the Exchange Club of Fresno recognizes her many achievements.?
